KDE кого-то ждет [solved]

emerge nvidia-drivers
emerge kde-base .....
правка конфигов (прошу прощения - могу приводить отдельные параметры, ибо не соображу, как можно сюда текст вытаскивать, работаю на другой машине)
startx
..появляется заставка nvidia, после чего черный экран, на нем курсор мыши, нормально работающей и тишина... Прибьешь по Ctrl-Alt-BackSpace - в консоль некоторое время вываливаются сообщения, что kde не нашла дисплей и прочее, именно с момента срубания выскакивают.... А так стоит... Дооолго стоит. Ничего не делает. Хоть куда копать, кто виноват? В буке написано, что должен запуститься Персонализатор... Не было такого.. По ходу и до kde дело не доходит. В логах Хов вроде ничего нет. Я читал, что тут на форуме, но у меня, как понял, еще не 9я ветка драйверов,

До потери пульса перечитывал, только что
rc-update add xdm default
не делал, хочу, чтобы по умолчанию в консоль грузилось.
сделал, запустил
rc
поморгало, часики Хов появились, выпало... :(

Имел судя по всему такую же проблему. Симптомы очень похожи на мои. Решилась следующим образом - попробуй в /etc/make.conf закоментировать CFLAGS CXXFLAGS MAKEOPTS, и перекомпилить дрова nvidia-drivers. Мне помогло (тоже был черный экран и т.п.).

Ну тогда поизучайте повнимательнее /var/log/Xorg.0.log - очевидно, что проблема не в KDE, а в настройках xorg-а.
Если не справитесь, выкладывайте сюда вывод:
1. emerge -pv xorg-x11 xorg-server
2. lsmod
3. содержимое /etc/X11/xorg.conf
4. содержимое /var/log/Xorg.0.log
Какая версия
Какая версия иксов можно полюбопытствовать? Было дело что старые драйвера (всмысле не 9 ветки) не хотели работать с версией 7.1 (что и было заявлено nVidia)

Уже и дрова
Уже и дрова обновил на 9ххх и что только не делал... Стоит и все.
Т.е. доходит до черного экрана, стоит. Курсор мышиный есть... KDE только ночью переставил. Помогите, уже убился.

по логам видно что он не может прочитать параметры монитора, попробуй закомментировать эти строчки:
если непоможет - попробуй сгенерить modeline с помощью gtf
кстати в секции монитора помоему что-то нето, там для частот диапазоны нужны, вроде этого:

У меня LCD, так что частоты другие, думаю, с этим нормально. Коммент предложенных строк ничего не дал :( Такое впечатление, что Х не передает управление в КДЕ...

Скорее всего Вас спасет одно из следующих действий:
1. Убедитесь, что Вы используете "правильный" nvidia драйвер. Возможно Вам нужен nvidia-legacy (подробнее: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/ru/nvidia-guide.xml )
2. Забэкапьте свой xorg.conf, удалите его и автоматически сгенерируйте новый (подробнее: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/ru/xorg-config.xml )
3. Выполните revdep-rebuild
Если все это не помогло, то пересоберите систему emerge -e world.

Сделано - не помогло. При смене драйверов и конфига единственное, чего добиваешься - смена разрешения... Но вот, что нашел.

У меня уже крыша едет от перепробованного, если честно. Что попробовать? Просто X ? - "сеточка" с курсором и стоит, ждет...

вот! если есть "сеточка с курсором" - то Иксы нипричём. Они работают. Конфиг в порядке. Проблема - видимо в кедах.
выстави в /etc/rc.conf XSESSION=kde-3.5 (что можно писать смотри в /etc/X11/Sessions/) и сделай в консоли startx
